There are a lot of factors to consider in determining where to retire. It can be exciting and overwhelming. Luckily, WalletHub compared all 50 states on 41 different qualities they felt related to “retirement-friendliness”. The analysis considered factors like affordability, health-related factors and overall quality of life.
The Top 10 States Were:
- Florida
- Colorado
- South Dakota
- Iowa
- Virginia
- Wyoming
- New Hampshire
- Idaho
- Utah
- Arizona
Florida scored #1 in the affordability ranking while Colorado scored #2 in the health care ranking. Florida also had the highest percentage of population aged 65 and over, while Colorado had one of the lowest percentages of population aged 65 and over.
WalletHub also conducted research to find which states had the most museums per capita (New York, California, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts) and which states had the most theatres per capita (New York, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania).
