Do you have a financial plan? With pensions going by the wayside, retirement planning has been forced upon the individual. The security of long term company support no longer exists and individuals are now completely in charge of their retirement outcomes. What does this mean? It means a comprehensive financial plan is essential.
According to a CFP Board Survey, 9 out of 10 households engaged in some type of formal or informal financial planning. However, only 19% of those households have comprehensive financial plans. These comprehensive plans go beyond simple budgeting to include retirement saving, insurance, and other financial issues.
The great news is that Americans can now take advantage of Financial Planning Days. From September 27 to November 8, hundreds of Certified Financial Planners® will gather around the country to give free financial advice. These financial advisors will meet individuals privately to discuss budgeting, credit, income tax, homeownership, college planning, estate planning, and insurance. There will also be free lecture presentations for attendees.
Registration is through www.financialplanningdays.org or by calling 1-877-861-7826.
