Independence Day

CFP-Denver-641.png

The crack of a firework, sizzle of hamburgers on the grill, the ubiquitous 'hut-hut-hut' of a family football game-- it's hard not to love a traditional, American 4th of July celebration.

For me, it's always about the menu-- what sides to cook this year? Hot dogs or hamburgers? How can I incorporate a watermelon into the tablescape (yes, I just said tablescape)? For the perpetual bargain hunter, the 4th offers up some great deals. So, take the extra day off of work and use it to your advantage. Here are three easy tips to save a little cash this holiday weekend.

1. 4th of July Sales:  The 4th is a perfect time to pick out that lawn mower or patio set. You can find great deals around town or online on many outdoor items you've been eyeing.

2. Public Firework Displays: While attending a baseball game on the 4th is always a fun option, you can also take advantage of free public firework shows. Click here for a list and see if they're in your area.

3. Family Help: If you're hosting a family BBQ, take advantage of the available help! If you're able to trade a family feast for a little help with a loose gutter, now is the perfect time to do it.

What are you planning for the 4th? Will you be using any budget-saving tips this year?
